Best Minecraft Minigame Plugins for 2026

Adding even one polished minigame can transform a quiet survival server into a busy network. Here are the plugins worth installing in 2026.

BedWars

The biggest minigame in Minecraft. Players defend a bed while raiding others.

BedWars1058 *(Free)* — actively maintained, modern, supports custom maps, parties, shops, and stats.

BedWarsX *(Premium, ~$15)* — more polish, built-in arena editor, leaderboards.

If you only run one minigame, this is it. Players will join a server *just* for BedWars.

SkyWars

Players spawn on floating islands, grab loot from chests, and fight to the last person standing.

ASkyWars or WildSkyWars *(Free)* — both work, ASkyWars is the more common pick.

Pairs perfectly with BedWars on the same hub — different vibe, similar audience.

Survival Games / Hunger Games

Last-player-standing PvP in a closed arena.

SurvivalGames *(Free)* — the original, still maintained.

Old-school but timeless. Best for short, intense rounds.

KitPvP

Players pick a kit and fight in an open arena. No waiting for matches.

KitBattle or DeluxeKits *(Free / Premium)* — both work. DeluxeKits is more polished if you can afford the $7.

Combine with CombatLogX to prevent rage-quits and BattleLevels for progression.

Murder Mystery

One murderer, one detective, the rest are innocent. Recently surged in popularity again thanks to YouTube.

MurderRun *(Free)* — reliable and configurable.

A great low-stress minigame that brings in non-PvP players.

TNT Run

Floor disappears under your feet — last one standing wins. Requires almost no skill, perfect for casual nights.

TNTRun_reloaded *(Free)* — community-maintained fork that still works on modern Paper.

Spleef

Knock blocks out from under opponents. Simple, fun, ten-year-old can win.

HeavySpleef *(Free)* — feature-rich, supports multiple arenas.

Build Battle

Players get a theme and 10 minutes to build. Voted on at the end. Brings in the creative crowd.

BuildBattle *(Premium, ~$10)* — easy to set up, judges built in, great for community events.

Lobby / Hub Plugin

You'll need a lobby that ties everything together:

LobbySystem or HubBasics *(Free)* — server selectors, double-jump, parkour disable, hide-other-players.

For multi-server networks, pair this with Velocity + BungeeGuard — see our network setup guide.

Stats & Leaderboards

PlaceholderAPI + LeaderHeads *(Free)* — show top players on holograms at spawn.

Public leaderboards drive retention more than any single feature. Players will grind specifically to see their name on the wall.

Cosmetics

UltraCosmetics or EzCosmetics *(Free / Premium)* — pets, particle trails, gadgets, hats.

Sell cosmetic perks to donors instead of pay-to-win items — keeps you EULA-safe (see our monetization guide).

How to Combine Them

A working minigame server needs:

  1. One flagship game (usually BedWars) — what people actually came for
  2. 2–3 supporting games in genres your audience likes
  3. A clean hub with NPC selectors
  4. Public stats so progression feels visible
  5. Cosmetics as the donor reward instead of P2W
Don't launch with all 8 minigames at once — you'll spread your players too thin and every queue will feel dead.

Performance Note

Minigame plugins generate a lot of map resets and entity spawning. Pre-generate your hub world with Chunky, run Spark for profiling, and consider per-game world loaders so unused arenas don't tick.

When you're ready, list your minigame server on ServerList.cc under the Minigames category.
